You might also experience swelling of your tongue when you wake up each morning until your piercing is completely recovered this is because the blood flashes to our head when we lay down which causes the swelling of the tongue. In order to avoid and treat this it is better to drink cold water every morning after waking up. For alternate things to do, one can eat ice cream to reduce the swelling.  During the initial weeks of healing, it is advised to avoid eating solid foods instated your diet must have soft foods that are easy to chew and engulf. Eating oily and spicy foods must also be evaded and one should think about including bananas, rice and soups in their everyday meals. This is one of the most important tongue piercing aftercare thing which you must practice.

As mentioned before tongue swelling is very common after getting tongue piercing done so one should try and avoid touching their tongue since this way the chances of getting any infections are high and they may increase several folds if your hands are not washed properly and you are still touching your tongue and your piercings.

  1. It is only common sense to have a plan for tongue piercing aftercare and of course get it done by a professional. An infection can cause so much pain and trouble that everything you can do to avoid it should be done.
