All You Need to Know about Monroe Piercing

Monroe piercing is one of the types of lip piercing that are done in order to stimulate a kind of beauty mark or mole on ones face and because they are seen on most of the well-known beauties including Monroe and Madonna. This type of piercing is done right above the upper lip of the person and the side where it is present is used to define its name. The labret stud is used for the purpose of piercing since it can also be used for the piercing of chin area. This type of piercing is very famous among people due to its uniqueness and beauty as it can add an extraordinary charm in your personality.

The labrets that are used for Monroe piercing are usually comparable to the barbells but the difference between both of them is that the one end of the labret stud is flat and its other end encompasses the ball and this is the feature that gives it astonishing appeal and this is why most of the people choose labret stud for their piercings. Today even black rounded studs are also accessible and you can choose them as they will provide the appearance of a beauty mark on your face.

The time period for the healing is about 6 to 8 weeks. The best thing about this is that they have the capability to heal much faster than any other type of piercings. Our mouths have so many bacteria killing enzymes so the chances of us getting any type of infection and septic are less and reduced although they are not completely invalidated but can be avoided by getting the piercing done in the right place because if the piercing is not done properly then it can cause some serious damage to your gums and teeth.

For the aftercare of Monroe piercing one should try to wash and rinse their mouth at least for a minute by a medical grade mouthwash after having each meal.  If such mouthwashes are not available at the moment then as an alternative use of diluted oral antiseptics is advised for the purpose of oral cleaning. Try to avoid over cleaning your wound and piercing as it will cause the healing process to delay further. If swelling is there in the hole then using ice as well as other chilled liquids can help a lot to reduce the puffiness.
